Pantsula dance became the talk of Soweto last weekend when the first ever pantsula informal dance competition, The Perfect Storm, took place on the streets of Mapetla.
The competition saw six pantsula groups; City Boys, The VIPs, The Shakers And Movers, Perfect Storm (of which a member is the organiser of the competition), NYTP and Dlala Mapantsula, command the attention of many Soweto residents who were kept captivated by the synchronised movements of the dancers.
The Perfect Storm initiative, which is sponsored by the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund, is aimed at keeping young people away from crime.
